Design and optimization of equal gradient thin-walled tube: Bionic application of antler osteon

Abstract To improve the crashworthiness and energy absorption of thin-walled tube structures, a bionic was designed based on structural characteristics antler osteon principle bionics had same inner outer diameters gradient thickness as osteon. A nonlinear finite element method is used to simulate with equal variation (EGTTS) under axial oblique loads. The EGTTS-7 (Egtts 7 layers) evaluated using complex proportional assessment(COPRAS). multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) algorithm optimize Pareto boundary obtain optimal structure parameters by loading angles 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°. It found that EGTTS best when load weight factor case large. Compared circular tubes(CT), F max can be reduced up 50.1% EA increased 22.7%.
